Pinup hair, because it looks impressive, can give people the impression that it must be complicated to achieve. The truth is that most everyday pinup looks can be created in very little time, especially with the help of a hair piece. You don’t need to know all the vintage hair techniques. You don’t need to commit to a whole look. You can just add one thing that has some personality to your style.

Have a go

Everyday pinup hair isn’t about getting those vintage styles totally perfect. It’s about being playful with those styles - trying things, seeing how it changes the shape and finding out what looks and feels good, and realising that most of the time, the look comes together faster than you expect. In this blog, we will include videos that our customers have made, to show you just how easy and fun it can be.

The easy win: A full wig

Possibly the quickest way into pinup hair is simply to pop on a wig. No styling, no practice — just choose a shape you like and wear it. A softly waved wig already looks like you’ve made a big effort, but your hair is done in less than a minute.

Let a hairpiece do the job for you

If a full wig feels like too much, a ponytail or hair piece is an easy halfway step. They are quick and easy to put on, comfortable, and easy to live in — which is exactly why they work so well for everyday pinup. You just need to find out the hair colour that matches yours best and we can help with that - ask us here.

A waved or curled ponytail instantly gives a pinup flavour, even with very simple hair at the front. Woman with long black hair styled in an elegant updo, wearing a black dress against a white background. Long ponytail with vintage waves: Kitrysha black 1b

Poodle hairpieces, like ponytails, are super easy to put on and can be worn in a variety of ways.

Half wigs are great for giving you those vintage waves instantly. They can be worn blended into the back of your head, or they can be used as a kind of ponytail - attached to a your own hair in a bun.

Lace fronts for that Hollywood look

Lace front wigs are good for those more striking styles. The hairline looks natural, partings sit properly, and styles worn away from the face feel believable, and most of the work has already been done, with those beautiful retro waves baked in. They're a bit more work initially, but well worth it.

Rolls

Rolls are fun and far less intimidating than they look — and with our pre-shaped pieces and roll kits, they’re even easier.

Doing something playful with the hair at the front whilst using a hairpiece at the back works very well.
